Waterford Insurances Ltd, established in 1957, was a thriving business in the city where late Michael Reddy, Tom Grace, and I served as directors. We successfully operated until June 2000 when the insurance division merged with HDIL. My tenure at Waterford Insurances Ltd was instrumental in my training, where I gained valuable experience from the ground up. Working alongside my former colleagues, some of whom are still active in the industry while others have retired, was a pleasure.In March 2010, I, along with Kieran Dwyer, Peter McDonald, and Greg Byrne, departed HDIL to embark on a new venture. Together, we founded McDonald Dwyer Reddy and Byrne Insurances Ltd. Despite starting the business during a recession, our dedication and hard work have contributed to the success it enjoys today. Like any business, we recognize the importance of continuous effort, and we remain committed to discovering innovative ways to expand.Maintaining a sterling reputation is paramount to us, and we take pride in delivering top-quality service to our customers. Grace & Watt Insurances Ltd, initially established by Tom Grace and the late Willie Watt, held an association with Waterford Insurances Ltd. Following Willie Watt's passing, The late Tom Grace and Michael Reddy, my father, facilitated the merger of the two companies. In this merger, all personal and commercial lines business found its home in Waterford Insurances Ltd, while the life and pensions business was consolidated under Grace & Watt Insurances Ltd.Subsequently, Grace & Watt Insurances Ltd integrated its book of business into Hooper Dolan Life & Pensions Ltd, which has since been renamed Adelphi Financial Services Ltd. With this transition, the original company became redundant and ceased trading in the year 2000.
