I supervise various staff activities in the areas of programming, planning, engineering, permitting, project management, and maintenance (64 full-time employees). Develop annual transportation budget ($80 million) and 5-Year Transportation Improvement Program. Oversee development of Kane County Long Range Transportation Plan which includes Highway, Transit, and Bicycle planning components. Oversee reviews on county subdivision plans, site development plans, and access plans. Negotiate and draft intergovernmental agreements with municipalities and other local agencies. Draft resolutions and ordinances for County Board consideration. Represent Kane County at the region’s Metropolitan Planning Organization and Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). Serve on various regional committees representing Kane County and/or the seven Chicagoland counties. Chairman of the Bicycle & Pedestrian Committee for the Chicago region.

Represent 32 municipalities and provide input on various regional policy issues regarding such things as Transportation, Environment & Natural Resources, Human Services, Economic & Community Development, and Land Use Planning. Oversee development of $7 million annual Federal Surface Transportation Program (STP). Coordinate local agency federal grant applications for programs such as CMAQ & Enhancement. Coordinate local and regional transportation activities, programming and planning efforts.
