Agile Therapeutics is a women's health company focused on the use of drug delivery technology to improve contraceptive options for women. The company had a successful IPO in 2014 and its lead product, Twirla(R), was approved by the FDA in 2020. Recruited a new management team, raised $65 million in venture capital, rebuilt the investor syndicate, defined product development strategy and moved the company from preclinical to phase III testing. Organized transition to commercially oriented CEO as product moved into pre-launch planning. Established strong IP protection for the lead product, and led the development of IP to support future line extensions. Agile Therapeutics had a successful IPO.

Start up dermatology company for the treatment of erythema of rosacea. Co-inventor on key US and Ex US patents, established collaboration with Mayo Clinic for proof of concept study, recruited executive team, raised start-up capital from the state of Pennsylvania, negotiated sale of the company to Collagenex, Inc. SansRosa's ground breaking product for the treatment of erythema of rosacea is now marketed as Mirvaso (R) by Galderma in the US and around the world.

Served on The R.W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute as a member of the Board of Directors, where duties included strategic decisions on advancing drug candidates into and through clinical development, integrating R&D direction with commercial objectives, allocating annual R&D budget in excess of $1bn in accordance with portfolio and strategic objectives, and long term strategies for improvement of R&D performance. Led an R&D - wide process improvement initiative moving the company into the upper quartile of key performance benchmarks; integrated J&J's two major research institutes to form Johnson&Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development, a multinational organization with a $3 billion budget and over 3000 scientists, led an initiative to improve the pre-and post marketing drug safety surveillance and reporting. Line management responsibility for formulation development, analytical chemistry, API synthesis, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, pathology and toxicology. Therapeutic area experience in neurology, wound healing, pain management, anti-infectives, women's health, pulmonary disorders, hematology, and drug delivery.
