Member of the MOD Operations Directorate Crisis Team responsible for Data Protection Requests regarding:• Operation Shader: the code name given to the British participation in the ongoing military intervention against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), and• Operation Gritrock: the code name given to the British participation in the fight against the Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa.• Created detailed research and developed inputs for MOD involvement in Sierra Leone to contain and beat the Ebola epidemic, and in Syria and Iraq to counter ISIL, working directly with the Operation Shader and Gritlock policy teams.• Analyzed and responded to a highly complex and sensitive caseload of Freedom of Information Act requests to demanding statutory deadlines with typically 50 cases open at any one time. Liaised with key internal and external stakeholders to make them aware of particularly sensitive requests and, where appropriate, obtain their views on the potential impact of the disclosure of associated information. Drove liaison with internal MOD secretariat branches and wider government departments to identify required information to construct accurate and timely responses. Ensured compliance with both internal processes and FOIA requirements.• Prepared responses to Additional Information Access Requests emanating from: Ministerial Correspondence; MPs and constituents; Treat Officials; and Parliamentary Questions.• Identified weaknesses in the current arrangements for managing and resolving Information Access Requests and reported these to appropriate colleagues within the Information Governance Team.

Representative of the British Government’s Defence team in New Delhi, India responsible for:• Maintaining strong Defence and Security relations between the UK and Indian Governments.• Developing inter-operability between the UK Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of India in support of the Government’s ambition for an ‘enhanced partnership’.• Regularly working on policy issues, operational commitments and counter terrorism, and reporting information to Main Building.• Providing direct support to the Naval & Air and Military Advisors in the management of a wide range of activities related to the Indo-UK bilateral Defence Programme.• Acting as sole liaison with Indian tri-service military staff branches to discuss and deliver inward and outward visits, VIP movements, SME exchanges, recreational engagements and training opportunities.• Personally facilitating Diplomatic Flight clearances for 607 separate military aircraft movements of which 170 were achieved through the notoriously difficult Indian approval process.• Personally facilitating the visits of 30 military ships to India, including HMS Illustrious and 7 nuclear submarines.• Coordinating flight movements and ground transport of various VIP’s, including both HRH the Prince of Wales and the UK Prime Minister to various military airfields on separate visits to India. • Taking on sole control of the Defence Section activities budget (£1m pa) and Security Cooperation Activity Plan, turning these from being historically chaotic to a new set of processes that have since been adopted as a best practice model across the global Defence Section network.• Sole administrative responsibility for Exercise Indra Dhanush (IDII), a month long bilateral training exercise between the RAF and the Indian Air Force with aims of developing strategic interoperability between the two forces in a joint operational scenario whilst exhibiting RAF Typhoon capability.

• Primary Liaison Officer between 700+ educational establishments in the North East region and RAF recruiting teams.• Arranged and delivered recruitment events to encourage young recruits and produced detailed Post Event Reports.• Provided overall support to the RAF Motivational Outreach Team and the Careers Liaison Officer. Provided comprehensive support for monthly Regional meetings by scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and ensuring equipment was available.
