As an energy advisor I would be given leads that had expressed an interest in renewable technology. It was my role to then find out exactly what it was they wanted and supply them with the right product. This required a sound knowledge of all the products and how they worked including technical specifications of plumbing and electrics. All with the veiw to completing a sale.When my role changed I became a compliance administrator and was required to ensure all administrative tasks associated with current projects and government schemes were completed. This ranged from ensuring logistically parts would be available to specifying technical parts needed for a particular job.

Although my job title was a specific role the job itself intailed a range of different roles. Primarily my role was to ensure all the reserved bikes were built when customer were ready to pick them up. Placing, modifying and collecting orders along with controlling the movement of stock around or out of the store are all necessary tasks I had to learnt to be as efficient as possible. My secondry role was to serve customers using the POS systems. This requires having a sound knowledge of our products and procedures to ensure that I can give the customer the best service possible. Having good social skills is key to motivate other staff members and defuse volatile situations that could arise with customers. The job also required to be able to multitask as it was a very busy environment in the warehouse and also on the shop floor.

This was a temporary placement at Norwich City Council. The work experience went really well and I got to meet and interact with lots of people, many of which were the general public. I got plenty compliments on how well it went and a lot of people were impressed in the level of enthusiasm that I had for the time. I was also complimented on how well I communicated with people and how I want afraid to ask questions and apply myself to the situation. Another comment I was very pleased to hear was I would be the type of candidate that they would like to have to join their company.
