ICT is my passion and it has the power to become the central link between all departments of an organization. I'll later get back to why I see it that way and why ICT means more to me than just binary 0s and 1s. First a few lines about me.I haven't really done anything else in my professional career.In the past 24 years, I have had the chance to experience almost all areas of ICT.My entry into the ICT world was influenced by computer assembling, software development, system engineering, private and business customer support, as well as ICT operating.Therefore, I originally come from an service-related operational area.Today, my day-to-day work is dominated by project planning and management, leadership of employees, the handling of outsourcing partners and service providers and, above all, ICT strategic planning, IT governance, ICT budgeting and finance, process design, BI, IT security, etc.More and more new or changed topics are taking over, such as the new data protection laws, the topic of sustainability or information security in relation to the cyber security situation.But why do I now claim that ICT is more than just a technical tool?ICT has become a fundamental part of every stage of a company's value chain, and it offers much more than just the input and output of data. So far, so clear, but it is often the case that new applications or processes find it difficult to meet with user acceptance.Statements like: "It was better in the past", "management wants it this way", "it's much more complicated now", we probably all know. But this is exactly where I see the key to success.I see ICT as a customer and user-oriented people business, and it is becoming more and more that way.Techniques like Scrum SAFe (DevOps) but also philosophies like lean management aim at exactly that. I use this knowledge in the design of new projects. I am convinced that the consideration of the user experience and needs of the target groups in combination with an agile and user-centered way of working will result in a much better acceptance.Not to forget the different characteristic traits of the various nationalities, customers, suppliers, etc. Yes, read correctly, characteristic differences have something to do with ICT for me, because these differences exist even between different departments in the same company and therefore we are already at the next key point, communication...… but to find an end I hereby stop writing.Long story short, I really like what I do and as you can see I like to communicate a lot about it.
