I attended the University of Illinois as a math major so that I could teach high school students. I taught at Unity High School for one year, but I realized that teaching was not the best fit for me, as I had more passion for mathematics than the majority of my students. I decided to pursue a career that is grounded in applying the subject that I have always loved, and began studying probability and financial mathematics. I recently passed P/1 and FM/2, and am eager to find a position so that I can get some real professional experience in actuarial science. I have taken courses in statistics, computer science, finance, and economics, and have experience working with C++, Excel, and Access. I hope to use my mathematics and computer background in an exciting new career.
