Thomas attended South Texas College of law where he was a dean’s list student and vice president of the Environmental Law Society. While in law school, Thomas demonstrated his advocacy skills winning several first place mock trial competitions and outstanding participant in a national moot court competition. After completing law school, Thomas began his legal career in Houston, Texas practicing subrogation, complex commercial litigation, personal injury, trucking claims, premises liability, toxic torts, products liability, real estate litigation, and general civil litigation. Thomas worked in several small and mid-sized Texas law firms with his law partner and wife Kimberly. In 2005, Basham & Scott was formed in Houston, Texas representing fortune 500 companies nationwide. In 2006, Thomas and his wife moved to Brunswick, Maine to raise their children nearer to family. In Maine, Basham & Scott continues its representation of fortune 500 rental car companies nationwide. Basham & Scott also handles all of its Texas litigation while simultaneously growing its Maine and Massachusetts practice. Basham & Scott is involved in claims involving product defect subrogation, rental car claims, automobile subrogation, personal injury, wills and estate planning, and trucking claims. Basham & Scott, LLC currently employs seven attorneys and 24 support staff and is in the process of hiring additional attorneys and support staff.
