In this role I had overall responsibility for all the engineering aspects of the 2015 Cambridge Formula Student car. My key tasks included:Determining the 2015 vehicle concept from analysis of previous competitionsOverseeing integration of main vehicle sub-systemsOrganising final assembly of vehicle

Developed a Matlab model of the braking dynamics of the 2014 vehicle to enable me to specify the main components of the braking systemModelled the heating and cooling of a brake disc through a number of stops to determine the maximum service temperatureIn charge of the mechanical design and assembly of the team's first fully adjustable pedalbox

Around half this role was to investigate concerns raised by the manufacturing, assembly or purchasing departments and implement any required changes through the published engineering change procedure.For the remainder of my time I was assigned a number of longer term projects; a notable example of which is the company rebranding in 2013 where I acted as a key link to with our suppliers. I also worked on the new stainless steel valves introduced in 2015 where I performed performance testing on the initial prototypes and drafted the assembly instructions.
