About Thomas Seel
I am seeking to find a board position in a national for-profit organization and a board position in a local not-for-profit organization that applies a biblical worldview to their core operations. I also am now turning my attention in retirement to seeking to share the riches of music in worship that stem from the Book of Revelation by teaching ten regulative characteristics that can inform worship in the 2020s. I have taught it in churches and at worship conferences across the country over the past 30 years on a part-time basis. As citizens of heaven with Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior, the music in worship in the Apocalypse is the eschatological glue pulling us to our heavenly home. We were given this musical glimpse of heaven in order to emulate it this side of eternity in our corporate and lifestyle worship. Also, I seek to honor God daily by using the talents and gifts he has given me in the area of Money (LEFT BRAIN-raising it, investing it, accounting for it, spending it, and auditing it); Music (RIGHT BRAIN-in Academia and applying teaching and creativity in the trenches of business); Ministry (via servant Leadership); and Management (guiding and coaching in Leadership by pushing Vision to Mission to Annual Goals and into all job descriptions by growing giants around leadership). As a consultant, I advised small businesses and not-for-profits by directing CEOs to hone strategy and to understand board governance; COOs with establishing sustainable free cash flow and improved profitability; CFOs with treasury, accounting, IT, HR, compliance and transparency in policy; write business plans and strategic plans; and Development Officers in raising funds in both capital giving and deferred giving. As an adjunct professor, I motivate MBA and doctoral students with integrity in the fine arts and business.Specialties include serving as senior management for: 1) Small Business; 2) Not-for-profit 501(c)3s; 3) Higher education; and 4) Churches and Church-related organizations. As a former FINRA (formerly NASD) holder of Series 6, 7, 24, and 63 licenses, I engaged in the investment management realm, I served as the investment officer for a top 30-sized endowment with $2 billion in its endowment. For 8 years, I sat on the investment committee of a pension & benefits fund with $14 billion in assets. As a professional church musician, I inspire church congregants in blended worship by seeking to bring spiritual depth to Gospel-based Christianity.
Listed skills include Strategic Planning, Management, Fundraising, Nonprofits, and 23 others.
