I recently worked as a research intern at the Home Lab at the Human Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.I assisted in the completion of four projects: Electronic Health Records Misalignment, ClassInsight, Robot Re-embodiment, and an IoT table. These are four collaborative projects where designers, researchers, and computer scientists build new systems and studies to improve the world around us.

My work included data analysis and team management while the Primary Investigator was away on conference. In the past I have also worked on coding recorded audio files and observing live classroom interactions. My tools include Audacity and Meteor. I started as an observer of the whole research system. I created a coding manual to classify TA questions which was eventually combined with Machine Learning software to classify questions into specific types. I joined the data analysis team and helped the primary investigator visualize the data. Finally, we developed a training module for the TAs and an AI that observes the classroom and collects the data.

I worked at Lovoco as a GUI Designer. I was tasked with redesigning of one of their major products, Stenopoly. Stenopoly provide users with an accurate real time translation and transcription service. It also provides rapid, unobtrusive closed captioning for presentations in multiple languages. Over the course of my time with Lovoco I also provided website redesigns, and served as Webmaster for their site.

I observed videos, group meetings, and listened to audio files. My responsibilities included handling delicate observation equipment. I assisted in the creation of another coding manual for evaluating teacher behaviors.
