Thomas Shattuck is the owner and lead investigator of Atlantic Investigative Consultants. Thomas served for over 15 years with the Virginia Beach Police Department as a highly decorated Police Officer, Robbery & Homicide Detective, SWAT Team Leader, and Police Supervisor. Thomas earned his B.A. in Law & Society from Michigan State University. He is a graduate of the 13th Session of the West Point Leadership Course and a graduate of the CDITC's Criminal Defense Investigator Academy.

During his tenure as a SWAT Team Leader, Thomas successfully led over 100 tactical missions involving high risk arrest and search warrant service, armed-barricaded subjects, dignitary and executive protection, and high risk surveillance operations. Thomas Shattuck had the honor to serve as a Counter Assault Team Leader in support of the President of the United States Secret Service Protection Detail for Barrack Obama. He also served as the Tactical Team Leader in support of Former Speaker of the House John Boehner's United States Capitol Police Protection Detail.

At 28 years old, he was the youngest detective assigned to the Homicide Unit in the history of the Virginia Beach Police Department. Thomas Shattuck served as the lead investigator and crime scene investigator for numerous high profile murder cases. He was also assigned as the VBPD's lead instructor for homicide investigations and interrogations. His investigations have been featured on several national television programs to include Dateline NBC and National Geographic. He was invited by Eastern Virginia Medical School to serve as a guest lecturer during the school's conference on sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

While assigned to the Robbery Squad he was the lead investigator and lead interrogator for the largest serial commercial robbery investigation in Hampton Roads history. The investigation involved 30 commercial robberies in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake. The investigation resulted in a sixty-one count federal indictment against seven co-defendants. All seven co-defendants were subsequently convicted in federal court and ordered to serve sentences ranging from 9 to 63 years.
