In my position as Senior Consultant, I perform many different tasks throughout my working day. I utilise a number of different systems to source and book all aspects of the customers travel requirements. I meet the needs of the customer while maintaining service level agreements and following both the customers and our organisations policies and procedures.I promote good working relationships and have become a single point of contact for both customers and colleagues. From mentoring and helping to develop new starters within NYS Corporate, as well as making myself available and approachable at all times to colleagues within the company.I was chosen to be one of the company’s System Gurus specialising in our Air booking tool. I took on this additional role at an exciting time as we were moving from Amadeus E-Travel to Vibe Corporate. I was instrumental in the development and growth of the system, consulting with colleagues and customers prior to its development; customising the basic system to meet both NYS Corporate’s needs and our customers personalised requirements. Since its launch, I have continued to develop the system and look to evolve the it into a one stop solution.In 2016 I was nominated by my colleagues for a Peoples Award in the Reservation Consultant of the Year category. In 2017 I was also a member of the Focus Champions Panel with the Advantage Focus Partnership, where we discussed current industry issues and upcoming changes and developments in the travel industry.I am proficient in both Travelport Galileo and Amadeus Selling Platform.

During the COVID-19 lockdown I was given the opportunity to take a secondment position at Capita Customer Management, to help support both Capita Travel and Events Limited and our wider business. As part of this secondment I am working with one of our government customers in the role of National Telephony Advisor, assisting service users with support, advice and assistance ranging from day-to-day enquiries to complex and personal needs.This has provided me with valuable insight and experience not only in a different industry but also dealing with and helping to support vulnerable customers, complex needs and circumstances that service users face.

As the Office Manager my duties include the day-to-day running of the branch, overseeing all departments which cover rail (UK and international), accommodation, air (including Eurostar, car hire & ancillaries), MICE including group reservations and administration. I also deal with personnel issues including staffing of the office, sickness and leave, etc. I troubleshoot and deal with all forms of queries and operational tasks daily, ensuring that all tasks are seen to completion. I am responsible for the workload and customer service that my office provides. Whilst working in my current role, I have been instrumental in the growth of the office including doubling staff volumes and assisting with the expansion of our client base. Through this growth I have employed varying levels of consultants, training and nurturing their careers within in the industry.My office is currently responsible for a client base of over 200 companies ranging from private customers, to corporations and government departments. To do this, I am competent and trained in various systems including Microsoft Office, Travelport Galileo, Sabre Red (GDS), ELGAR, Evolvi, Conferma Hotel Booker, Micros Traveller, GetThere and tRIPS (SABS Corporate). I have also completed various airline and hotel training programmes including British Airways (New Fares, Training Academy Level I & Iberia Insights), Hyatt Specialist, Lufthansa Group course 2014 & Marriott Hotel Excellence Graduate.

I have undertaken numerous roles at Redfern Travel Limited initially starting out in the Accounts Department doing general day-to-day administrative accounts duties. After 12 months I then moved to our Business Travel Department and with the relevant training starting my career as a Business Travel Consultant. I initially dealt with a large government client taking care of their travel needs. From there within the company I gained experience and knowledge and expanded my client base to all Redfern Travel’s clients. This included booking tailor-made itineraries to suit the corporate traveller’s needs.Becoming a Senior Business Travel Consultant with a vast knowledge of the products, services and markets the offer and operate the opportunity arose to transfer to our branch office in York assuming the role of Office Manager.
