I am a journalist, video producer and documentary filmmaker and have produced, shot, reported and/or edited stories in 21 states, Japan, The U.K., Brazil, China and The Navajo Nation as well as producing a wide variety of commercial work. I currently am a staff writer for Niseko, Hokkaido's Powderlife Magazine. I have assisted several foreign companies with video production in Japan, and helped Japanese companies appeal to foreign markets or customers. My work has appeared on Nikkei Asia, Japan NRG, Powderlife, CNN, WNET's MetroFocus and New York Treasures, HuffPost, NationSwell, UpWorthy, RepubblicaTV and as part of a curriculum for The Paris Institute of Political Studies Journalism Master Program. A short documentary I produced is currently part of an exhibit on global Buddhism at the Übersee Museum in Bremen, Germany. I am proficient in Japanese and live with my wife and our two children in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan.I also am a co-founder and partner with Rooftop Reds, a Brooklyn-based rooftop vineyard, wine bar and event space. Currently we are developing a project in Tokyo!And I recently founded a online company called Old Japan that sells woodblock prints and old photography and art books from Japan.
