This role has exposed me to a wide variety of technical areas within IT and has given me a broader understanding of the Windows 7/10 OS and how it’s fundamentally customised. My main focus is to look after and manage the Windows 7/10 build (Citrix VDI, laptops and desktops) ensuring that all of our applications are packaged to a set of standards (agreed by the business). System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is used to manage applications and deployments within our environment. The job requires a heavy understanding of SCCM both from an administration perspective down to troubleshooting both clients and the server. The packaging aspect of the role includes using Admin Studio / Installshield when necessary to create our in-house packages so a broad understanding of MSI’s is required and also MST when customising vendor MSI's.
