From 4/1972 until 4/1988 I was heavily involved in the civilian Nuclear Power program. My expertise was focused on the nuclear fuel cycle – design, acquisition, use, and disposal. I spent one year in Brazil as a staff consultant to the Brazilian utility Furnas in Rio de Janeiro. I was also very involved in the design and construction of the South Texas Nuclear Project, where I managed the Nuclear Fuel Department.In 1988 I became involved with Houston Lighting & power Company’s Energy Audit and Commercial Load Management Programs. I managed the development and implementation of these programs. I resigned from HL&P in 1995 to take a Business Development position with a company (CES/Way) implementing Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC) and received my Certificate as an Energy Manager (CEM) from the Association of Energy Engineers. A few years ago, I was awarded a Lifetime Certification. I remained in this specific area of business development until 2001 when I was hired by an outsource management company to be the National Energy Manager for several large retail companies – most notable was Toys-R-Us. This one client had more than 1200 stores spread across the USA.I became employed by Tetra Tech Corporation in 2005 to be a Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) for the USAF Air Education and Training Command. Officed at the AETC Headquarters at Randolph AFB, our staff had responsibility for 11 bases. After a brief time with a Texas Retail Electric provider (2008 – 2009) I was re-employed by Tetra Tech to be a REM with the US Coast Guard. Subsequently, while employed by Redhorse Corporation, I became the REM for Marine Corps Base Hawaii. I retired in October 2013.
