I love to build things. Since childhood days. I spent hours creating complete ecosystems with the famous Danish brick company. And I guess some of this spirit stayed. Building something from scratch has become a professional passion for me. Sometimes I get asked if I do public speeches, key notes or consult on innovation and marketing strategy. Absolutely. Please read below and shoot me an email if anything sparks your interest. So far I have been in key account management, product management, innovation management and business development. In both consumer goods as well as B2B. The tasks I loved most were somehow related with finding innovative ideas to identify a new product or approach a market segment. Being in key account mgmt with Kärcher and later as product manager I learned how the North American retail industry works. That distinct feeling of fear when you enter those grey meeting rooms in Bentonville, AR, Atlanta, GA or Mooresville, NC. Priceless, if you got something new and innovative in your pocket. Heading the product innovation management, I realized that customer insights are key. Cleaning is a highly cultural influenced thing. With my fantastic teammates I studied how Japanese clean their bathrooms, how Brazilians wash dishes (no hot water at the kitchen sink) or how Norwegians clear snow and ice. Eventually we came up with the concept to live at customers' places to observe their habits. It still blows peoples' minds when I tell those stories. Overall we created a couple of cool concepts that actually made it to market: the OC 3 mobile outdoor cleaner, the K3 Follow-me pressure washer with four wheels, the indoor pressure washer for Brazil or the wooden patio cleaner with roller brushes PCL 4.With Festool I left the consumer world to dive into the habits of professional painters and interior finishers - just to find that even though they run a business they act like consumers with many of their decisions. Again, supported by a great team I got to see construction sites and meet craftsmen all over the world: in the US, in China, Spain, Italy, Poland, UK. Guess what? Most of them wear white work pants. But there is so much else they have in common. Utilizing customer insights, we build a marketing strategy bringing the segment sales for this target group to a new level.My newest endeavor takes me on a unknown road. At exoIQ I support on the marketing side in launching a real innovation. Exoskeletons in the workplace. Industrial production, logistics. First to-do: Figuring out customer insights. 🚀
