Performs a variety of clerk duties required to process mail using mail processing equipment or manual methods of sortation and distribution.

Controls and is responsible for inventory and the pull/pack/ship process at mail order center. Ensures accuracy of purchase orders and transfers and processes customer returns and warranty items in the Receiving department. Assigns personnel to duties, processes order batches, pull store pre-solds and researches inventory count errors, adjusting when necessary, in the Pull/Pack area. Opens and closes the building and supervise both receiving and puller/packer personnel.

Receives, stores, distributes/ships material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments. Reads customer order, store-to-store transfers, or request for manufacturing items to determine items to be moved, gathered, or shipped. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

Utilizing heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes; perform material handling and warehousing functions as required; order filling, processing, storing/picking of parts, materials, equipment and supplies; operating automated packaging equipment, shipping and receiving.

Check products to be shipped against shipping orders to ensure proper amounts, identification and correct materials. Work from shipping order and shipping instructions, within shipping regulations, such as weight and size limitations, using measuring scale, weighing and counting scales. Build export crates and skids using power saw and other hand tools. Responsible for visual quality inspection of parts prior to packing and shipping. Parts may require clean up, painting or sandblasting, or may be rejected and referred to manager for disposition. Paperwork includes, but is not limited to, completing packing slips, addressing, UPS log, accepting and signing freight bills and doing inventory cycle counts. Prepare Bill of Ladings for outgoing shipments. Pick and pack part orders using an RF hand held terminal. Assemble kit parts. Operate forklift and drive pickup truck. Records proper counts by verifying packing lists and delivery tickets. Documents transaction of material received which will authorize correct payment of freight charges and invoices. Responsible for the unloading of all incoming deliveries, including UPS, trucks and plant deliveries. Delivers received goods to designated stocking locations. If no stocking location is available, the Warehouse Manager will assign one. Packages and identifies all incoming materials in supplier packaging or received in bulk. Repackage all parts that have vendor marking on the packages and block out all vendor markings on the products.

Responsible for coordinating, carrying out and supervision of all training activites for all members of a municipal career fire department and training facility. The Chief Training Officer shall keep complete and accurate records of all training and classes carried out for all members. Coordinates and oversees all training for parish (county) training facility. The Chief Training Officer shall act as the Fire Department Safety Officer. Chief Training Officer coordinates, supervises and serves as a HazMat Technician in a parish (county) wide Hazardous Materials Response Team and is responsible in the upkeep of the HMRT response trailer.
