Lead Operator, Stationary Engineer
Operate and maintain systems at the Central Plant for Bush Intercontinental Airport for services such as heating, air conditioning (cool, humidify, dehumidify, filter, and circulate air), refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water as well as monitoring high voltage systems. System management includes the operation and maintenance of two 50,000 lb. per hour boilers, 600`F superheated steam plant and equipment such as boilers, furnaces, pumps, fans, engines, heating and ventilation equipment, including 3,500 ton steam and electric chillers.Duties included performing inspections as necessary to verify that facilities are functioning within condition limits; verifying operating conditions through the observation and interpretation of readings on gauges, meters, charts, and through BACKTALK and UtiliVisor computer systems that monitor and record various aspects of the systems’ operations. Ensured safe and efficient operation of the system to meet service demands by making appropriate control adjustments. Conduct water tests and make necessary adjustments to pumps, softeners, and controllers. Maintain a log of system operations, including but not limited to run time, system pressure, differential pressure, temperature, equipment status, and voltage load. Followed established safety procedures and provided technical advice, encouragement, and instruction to subordinates in all areas of plant/facilities maintenance and operations.
