I am passionate about having a positive impact on other people's lives. During my time at the university, I chose the domain of medical image processing as this appeared to me as the area where my contributions could have the biggest impact. So I took the respective classes, and also chose my PhD position accordingly.During my PhD, I developed innovative algorithms to improve endoscopy. I won numerous student competitions (listed below) and achieved a magna cum laude grade for my overall PhD work.After that, I started working as a research scientist at Royal Philips. There, I had the chance to work on most interesting projects. Some of the most interesting ones were segmentation of the major organs like the heart to help quantify its vital parameters, segmentation of different brain areas for early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, and organ-at-risk segmentation for radiotherapy.As I do like learning very much, I took technical courses like Deep Learning (Coursera), Nanodegree Data Analyst (Udacity), but also more management-related certifications such as Professional Scrum Master and Professional Scrum Product Owner in my time off.
