I worked for USDA APHIS for 14 years. I worked mainly in a regulatory functions conducting inspections and evaluations on laboratories, facilities, greenhouses and fields with various agricultural commodities growing in them. During my 14 years I also worked on special projects and emergency programs such as potato cyst nematode, Emerald Ash Boer, Mediterranean Fruit Fly, and genetically altered plant escape. Some of the other duties I had during my time with the USDA were: safety officer, conducting outreach at the Iowa State Fair, educating cooperating businesses in domestic and international trade regulations. Additional responsibilities at USDA APHIS were: safety coordinator and state fair committee. Prior to the working at the USDA I was employed at United Parcel Service for 26 years. Some of the positions I had at UPS were: preloaded, delivery driver, porter, and feeder driver. I still maintain a class A CDL with doubles and triples endorsement.Other positions I have had are Farm Owner operator and Farm Hand.
