I built complex functionality for major clients, such as an in-house messaging and ticketing system for a web app used by credit unions to process orders across the nation. As the direct point of contact for multiple customers, I was in charge of scoping, estimating, building, and launching applications.Continuing my WordPress experience, I built custom plugins and themes. A key example was a custom plugin to import products from an API into WooCommerce on a cron, including booking information. The plugin then sends booking data to an API when a client books a service.

As a Project manager, I was the primary point of contact for over 35 clients. I would oversee their projects, and would reach out to them with recommendations. I developed strong communication and time management skills. I built custom websites with responsive design, and worked directly with clients and designers. I built custom themes and made custom blocks for the Gutenberg editor. I also manually cleaned several hacked websites before we inherited them.

I began as the support contact for all clients. I communicated directly with clients, sometimes in high-pressure situations, and saw that their requests or questions were addressed. I developed strong troubleshooting skills and processes for tracking multiple concurrent tickets and seeing them through to completion. I also began to develop websites for clients, and became intimately familiar with WordPress, as well as gained experience in other Content Management Systems.

In this position, I continued working on the project I started on as an intern, and was also responsible for building additional functionality for a custom CMS used by a client. This position ended when my supervisor left and I decided to focus on school.

During my internship at GoAbroad, I worked on a ground up build of a modern, powerful blogging site. I leaned an used React, JSX, Laravel with MySQL, SASS CSS, and HTML. My supervisor taught me how to write efficient and high quality code, and demonstrated how much of a difference that can make for users and future programmers.

I was responsible for basic store maintenance, helping customers, and miscellaneous jobs. This was a great first job to practice communication in a professional environment. Maintenance included getting carts from the parking lot, and cleaning the store. I bagged groceries, and offered to bring the groceries to the car if the customer looked like they may be in need of help, or requested it. I was also given miscellaneous jobs by management, such as painting, hanging posers, or helping to stock the shelves.
