Monitor and manage 8 NetBackup environments and 22 Avamar grids with a combined monthly volume exceeding 7PetaBytes and containing over 10,000 servers to ensure successful completion of backups.Implement data and system recovery using NetBackup, Avamar, and NetApp SnapVault/SnapDrive.Troubleshoot and resolve NetBackup and Avamar server client, and backup infrastructure issues.Migration of backup images across environments and storage mediums.Perform user data restores, VM restores, DR drills, OS restorations and disaster recovery.Create/modify reports in Symantec OpsCenter Analytics.Work closely with Symantec and EMC frontline/backline support to resolve backup and restore issues if needed.Drive resolution of infrastructure issues with third party hardware vendors.Contribute to the development of processes, procedures, and best practices carried out by Backup Operations Team.Participate in high priority technical bridges with customers and ISS Global Operations Center.Applicable Skills & ExperiencePerform secondary and tertiary level troubleshooting of backup and restore failures.Oracle Solaris 10, Microsoft Windows Server 2000 – 2008 R2 Enterprise, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 operating systems.Troubleshooting Oracle RMAN, MS SQL Server, NDMP, and Teradata backup failures.NetBackup Enterprise Server and Client 6.5.6 – 7.5, including V-Ray environments.Upgraded EMC Data Domain Model DD670 from 5.4.0.7-401172 to 5.4.0.8-404909Avamar 6.0 and 6.1 on GEN2, GEN3, and GEN4 hardware.Oracle StorageTek SL8500 Libraries.Automated Cartridge System Library Software (ACSLS).Experience with EMC Data Domain, EMC Isilon and NetApp Decru DataForts encryption systems.Creation and administration of Storage Lifecycle Policies, Policies, and Schedules.Familiar with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concepts and practices.
