Completing an apprenticeship with Waterside Training with a sponsoring company of NSG Pilkington. Year one - 1 year at St Helens college completing key skills, B-TEC in machining and basic electrical knowledgeYear 2-3 - working for 13 months on a production site with the maintenance team in various sections complying to various health and safety points and machinery, with strict time schedules to complete jobs to ensure minimum downtime. During this time i also completed a NVQ level 2 on day release to college.Year 3-4 I spent the last two years working at NSG Pilkington R+D site at Lathom completing maintenance on machinery, working with machinery around chemicals as well as developing new machinery so that the production sites will be more efficient when they receive them. During my apprenticeship I have been trusted with specialist tasks such as precious metal welding and have gained the trust of my employers by being punctual, honest and hardworking as well as being forward thinking and having input into improving ideas. during this time I completed a HNC in mechanical engineering and an NVQ Level 3 in maintenance engineering.
