About Thomas Sølund

Experienced Technology Manager with 8 years of working experience in the robotic industry. Thomas Sølund holds a MSc in Robot Systems Engineering and a PhD in Computer Vision and Robot technology from the University of Southern Denmark and Technical University of Denmark, respectively. Thomas has a strong research background from participation and managing several international R&D projects e.g. PRACE (2011-2014), SMERobotics (2012-2016), ROBOTT-NET(2016-2020) and RobotUnion (2018-2021) The focus of his research is 3D vision for robotics; with 3D sensors, 3D estimation, pose estimation and object recognition techniques in 3D data as the main area. Thomas possess a strong technical understanding from a variety of technical focus areas during his career, from electronic and low level embedded software to high level object-oriented software design. The focus the last 5 year has been object-oriented software design and development. In the last 3 years, creating technical and commercial success through management of skilled and dedicated peopled has been the passion.
