Thomas is experienced in cold, cool, hot climate wine and table grape growing. He began studying Viticulture at The Ohio State University in his home town of Wooster, OH where he earned a Master’s Degree in Horticulture and Crop Science. He worked as a Viticulture Extension Educator at Michigan State University based in Traverse City, MI where he organized educational events, managed a research vineyard and supported the wine grape industry as a resource for practical solutions. Thomas currently works as the lead Viticulturist at Grapery in Bakersfield, CA focusing on flavor development, irrigation, nutrition, and crop load management. Here, he is part of a great team, growing the most delicious table grapes and cherries in the world under the blue skies of California’s Central Valley.
