YORK REGIONAL POLICE: (DRUGS AND VICE)MAY 2008 – FEB 2017Lead investigator (Team Detective) on a team of eight. This team was tasked with the covert investigation of Organized Crime Groups specifically involved in the production of Cannabis, Methamphetamine, MDMA, Ketamine, Fentanyl and cocaine. Our Unit would research, identify, target and dismantle any Organized group involved in the production of illicit substances. SKILLS DEVELOPED: • Create, organize and lead multi-agency teams at major events.• Assisted with the development and delivery of training in relationship to Clandestine Labs and large scale drug files. Taught officers around the Province at the Ontario Police College for 9 years.• Strong communication and Analytical skills.• Vast knowledge of court proceedings, criminal investigation, rules of evidence, admissibility of statements.• Extensive experience in interviewing and interrogation. Have taught these skills to new detectives for a 10 year period

YORK REGIONAL POLICE: (MAJOR CRIMES INVESTIGATION)JUL 2002–MAY 2008 Lead Investigator in a team of 7. Promoted to rank of Detective in this Time period. Investigation included a wide range of cases from Attempted homicides, property offences crimes against person, break and enters, arson and sex offenders. I became the shifts qualified Sex Assault / Crimes Against Children investigator. Obtained the highest level of qualification for investigations which included the ability to investigate homicides. SKILLS DEVELOPED:• Written/verbal communication skills – able to accurately record and maintain chronological records of events to satisfy the highest levels of the Canadian court system. Have provided hundreds of hours of testimony communicating my findings. • Skilled in the art of interview and interrogation. Have the experience and diplomacy to interview all persons in a variety of events.• Became proficient with computer software programs pertaining to word and excel in relation to managing cases, evaluating data, creating presentations and preparing daily reports. • Strong investigative skills

YORK REGIONAL POLICE: (CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION BUREAU) 1999 – 2002Worked as criminal investigator handling a multitude of crimes ranging from break and enters, mischief to property, crimes against people, frauds, low level sex crimes and street level robberies. Responsible for the carriage and investigation of these crimes to completion. SKILLS DEVELOPED:• Learned the art of Interview and interrogation in this complex high volume work Unit. • Became skilled at managing high workloads which sharpened skills to multi-task several investigations at one time.

YORK REGIONAL POLICE: (HOMICIDE INVESTIGATOR) JUL 2001 – JUL 2002One of four field investigators on this team. Primary role was the collection of evidence, report writing, investigation and development of leads, interviewing and interrogation, liaison with the affected family, court and search warrant preparation. Investigated a total of 7 homicides in the 2yrs while I was attached to the Unit. SKILLS DEVELOPED:• able to effectively function at the highest level of investigation within the police service, make proper and detailed notes, collect and process evidentiary items that pass the scrutiny of judicial review, draft accurate search warrants from the investigations findings and defend those findings in Superior Court in front of a judge and jury.• Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently with a team under high pressure stakes.

YORK REGIONAL POLICE: (UNIFORM PATROL)1989 – 1999My duties here consisted of uniform patrol of many different areas of York Region answering calls for service in a designated patrol zone

YORK REGIONAL POLICE: (EMERGENCY RESPONSE UNIT) 1995 – 1997Was a member of the Emergency Response Unit. This Unit attended all high risk calls involving firearms, hostage taking, armed and barricaded persons or calls deemed unsafe for uniform patrol. Large training blocks with the Canadian military at Base Borden and the Ontario Police College to become field active for duty.
