All duties required of an Site Safety and Health Officer.

Perform all duties required of a Site Safety and Health Officer for the Department of Defense.

Duties consisted of but not limited to: Performing Safety Audits throughout the San Diego area. Insured compliance with recorded training records, certifications, Safety meetings, rigging inspections, forklift use, fire protection (including inspection of fire extinguishers), fall protection, Ladder usage, and first aid. As a Consultant on these sites I mentored all necessary workers on compliance with any safety violation observed. I did so as a team member, and one who sincerely was concerned for the worker to learn proper Safety compliance, and visualize it as a Value to his profession.

Hired as a level 5 SSHO to assist the lead SSHO on the 50 million dollar Rotary Aircraft Hanger at North Island Naval Air Station. My duties consisted of but not limited to: Inspecting trenching operations. Providing Safety coverage and input during power outage operations, ( 12kv system ). Inspected shoring on a continual basis, Including trench boxes. Observe the removal of contaminated debris from the comingled demolition debris. Observed SWPP, and all required signage on a daily basis. Observed crane operations continually for all issues concerned with cranes. Provided delineation for all open areas, and or changes in elevation during placing of 1700 vibrated stone columns. Inspected fire extinguishers on a monthly basis, including all extinguishers designated for each piece of heavy equipment. Maintained dust control on site.

SSHO on 4 different projects: Pier 5000, Point Loma submarine base, Pier 1, Naval Station San Diego, Pier 7, Naval Station San Diego, Main Gate road closure, and open alternate road, Camp Pendleton. The work on the Naval bases consisted of removing all domestic water supply pipes and removal of all waste systems on or under the piers. Turning around and replacing all removed pipes, and valves with Polyethylene pipe. My duties with Reyes Construction consisted of but not limited to: Presiding over the start up meeting each morning, holding weekly Safety meeting, tracking all Safety deficiencies, Inspecting all rigging each morning and before any critical lifts. Insure work rafts were equipped with life rings and fire extinguishers. Observed daily use of skytrak used to remove existing pipe sometimes being the operator. Inspected electrical equipment daily for damaged cords and proper guards. Spent time under piers in skiff observing workers and insuring all EM-385 on the water regulations were adhered to.
