I now work for the same Employer but on 3rd shift as this allows me to be around more when needed for my daughter who is 8 years old and needs my help more niw as she gets further along in school and as my parents who help watch her get too old to help as much as they used to.

Worked with kids in placement helping them with there day to day needs and supporting them in the process of having their theraputic needs met in the local community as well as their educational and when old enough their Independent living skills needed for them to be better prepared for when they are adults on their own.

I started working at Beech Hill Hospital as a security guard where we kept the building, residents and staff safe through rounds, lock checks and backing up the clinical staff when ever a patient/resident was acting out and being unsafe. we would be called to use non-violent restraint Tech to hold the patient still. If the patient refused to calm down and be safe then a RN would administer a chemical restraint allowing the patient to relax and go to bed. I was promoted to being a counselor working with the patients in the milieu do to my natural ability to create a positive and therapeutic report. This was a chance for me to learn as well and have on the job training in a field most are required to have Collage degrees or be at least students at a school for this already. I took this opportunity and have been in this field ever since.
