- Fabricate and characterize novel additively manufactured Cu-based alloys, performing detailed microstructural investigations via transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electron back scatter diffraction (EBSD), in addition to X-ray diffraction (XRD), to reveal hierarchies of residual oxide nano-inclusions which resulted in high hardness and strengths as measured by nanoindentation and in-situ SEM micropillar compression.- Manage equipment, e.g. focused ion beam scanning electron microscope (FIB-SEM), training 15+ users one-on-one.- Mentor summer undergraduate interns during their ten-week summer program, devising research projects in the fabrication, characterization, and thermochemistry of HIAM alloys, training and providing day-to-day guidance for three students (one in 2022, two in 2024).
