I was responsible for the technical success and sustainability of Ansys rail products throughout their entire life cycle. This responsibility comprises all the facets of the system engineering processes, adhering to rail procedures and standards.Responsibilities included:• Drawing up project plans/budgets.• Writing of technical documentation SRS, ATP, ICD, SVD’s, etc.• Doing software design along with sub-system interface design.• Working with Windows Embedded, capturing and deploying of images.• Writing of .NET applications in C# and Visual Basic with WPF and Windows Forms implementations for various locomotive systems.• These locomotive systems include the Integrated System Display (ISD) and the Headless Train Cab System (H-TCS) and are currently being deployed by the Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) Fleet.• Interfacing with Board layer API’s to access low level functionality and communication.• Writing embedded applications in Dynamic C for Rabbit processors.• Implementing various software applications to aid in Production and interface to Hardware Testers.• Handling of client ATP’s and field tests.

• Writing of technical documentation (MIL-STD-498)• Writing of C code for ARM processors running on embedded Linux• Writing of Backend Software for Ubuntu Server in C language• Working with linux sockets.• Interfacing C applications to MySQL databases.• Hardware design in PCAD.• Writing of embedded C code in the FreeRTOS environment• Implementing streaming audio protocols in FreeRTOS interfacing to WLAN engine• Design and implementation of a hardware AES 128-bit encryption/decryption engine on FPGA

• Writing of firmware in the C language for various micro-controllers. (ARM, PIC32, 8051)• Working with GSM modems, GPS receivers and RF transceivers and the specific protocols associated with each.• Working hand in hand with hardware designers to help make hardware design choices.• Implementing/designing various communication protocols between low level and high level sub-systems.• Porting of firmware from various systems and micro controllers.• Writing of Technical documentation.• Hardware/firmware testing.
