Tom Van Hazebroeck is the founder and CEO of Thomas J. Van Hazebroeck, LLC, a North Atlanta Certified Public Accounting firm which traces its roots back to 1995. The firm assists small business owners and individuals in the areas of tax planning, tax preparation and tax problem resolution as well as QuickBooks set up, training, troubleshooting, and third-party applications. Tom began his career in the Chicago area more than 30 years ago and served in a wide variety of roles as an accountant and auditor. His early career work included Fortune 200 firms such as Sara Lee Corporation, Zenith Radio Corp., National Steel Corporation, and Alumax Inc. There he honed his skills in financial and operational data analysis and practical problem solving. Subsequently, he moved to Georgia where he developed his interest in taxes. As a recognized tax expert, he has held management tax positions with CBIZ, a top 8 national tax and business consultancy firm and George A. Pennington & Co, LLC, a local Atlanta CPA firm.He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois in Urbana. During his senior year, he took and passed the CPA exam on the first sitting. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from DePaul University in Chicago, graduating with distinction. Tom is currently a member of the Tax and the Personal Financial Planning Sections of the American Institute of CPAs, has served as a long-term member and past chairman of the Georgia Society of CPAs Task Force that plans and presents the SouthEast Accounting Show, one of the largest events of its kind in the country. Tom has been a QuickBooks ProAdvisor since 2000. Since 2006, he has earned annual certifications in QuickBooks Desktop and also has certifications in QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks Online editions.
