We are currently building Phase 10 of a large housing project in North Stoneham, Southampton. The Phase consists of 26 houses of 2-5 beds and a number of blocks of flats 1-2 beds. The houses are formed of timber frame and the blocks of flats are a mixture of timber frame and standard block and beam construction. The site is due for completion in the late summer of 2023.

Completed a 64 bed fully assisted living care home for Barchester Health in Otterbourne, Winchester.

Swindon, England, United Kingdom

I assisted in the construction of a 66 unit semi assisted living apartment block in Swindon, Wiltshire. The site was built using Porotherm blocks which combines the speed of timber frame, with the reliability of standard brick and block-work formation. Porotherm allows the face brickwork to be taken off the critical path, increasing the speed of its construction.

Salisbury, England, United Kingdom

I assisted in the running of a 25 unit retirement living apartment building being constructed in conjunction with a 65 bed semi-assisted living retirement block & 6 houses on the same site parcel in the centre of Salisbury, Wiltshire. I was largely in control of the internal trades as the superstructure was overseen by the project manager and senior site manager. As well as scheduling material deliveries and trade workloads I maintained quality checks and leased with the NHBC building inspector who signed off each key stage as required. This was a thoroughly interesting project and I was very pleased to have worked on something in such a great location.

In this role I worked under the contracts managers and the construction Director, monitoring the progress of the active sites around the region. Due to the size of the expending region, there was some 15 active sites for an extended period of time that needed accurate reporting and recording of progress against programs. I would also help the contracts managers plan and write the build programs for the upcoming sites that were due to start within a year or two. I wrote these programs using project commander and would have to present them during key development stage meetings to members of the McCarthy team, architects etc.
