InternshipUniversity Of Twente Sep 2017 - Feb 2018Enschede Area, NetherlandsDuring my internship I worked at the BIOS organ-on-a-chip at the University of Twente. During my assignment, I worked on the production of “cell sheets” of hCMEC/d3 cells. These cell sheets were transferred using a “plunger” in combination with temperature responsive polymers to other well plates. The final goal was to integrate these cell sheets in a blood-brain-barrier-on-a-chip device without disrupting the monolayer and therefore eliminate the need for synthetic membranes.
