Tom Smith is the managing partner of the law firm of Smith, Buss & Jacobs, LLP with offices in Manhattan and Westchester. He provides comprehensive legal representation in all areas of community association law. The firm is counsel to over 250 cooperatives and condominium associations . As a member of the Martin Act Task Force organized by Attorney General Denis Vacco, Mr. Smith provided advice and guidance to the former Attorney General regarding polices related to the regulations governing the offering of shares of cooperative corporations to the public under the General Business Law. Tom also serves as managing member of real estate companies which own corporate offices and retail properties in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. He has structured numerous financial workouts with institutional lenders and federal agencies on behalf of property owners and has represented institutional and individual clients in connection with the firm’s real estate transaction and leasing practice.Tom is a founder of The Westchester Bank and serves on the bank’s Board of Directors and as a chairman of the Loan Committee.Community Service:Mt.
