I graduated with a mining engineering degree in the spring of 2017 from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Much of my experience has come from my time on sites learning "hands on". In college, I was hired as an intern 3 consecutive years, with my first year being an 8 month co-op. My co-op was at the Falkirk Mine operated by North American Coal in Underwood, North Dakota. During my 8 months there, I was able to get experience doing time studies, working with the surveying crew, and conducted studies to solve various problems encountered with the Marion draglines. My two internships were with Lafarge, and LafargeHolcim, after their merger. During the combined 6 months of these two internships, I got experience working with drilling and blasting designs, working with the load and haul crew, learning about maintenance, working on safety, and implemented a 5S system. After college, I was hired as a production engineer at the Sloan Quarry with Aggregate Industries (A wholly owned subsidiary of LafargeHolcim). At the Sloan Quarry, I worked mainly with the operations group working on daily schedules, blasting designs, health and safety, and other various projects. In September of 2018, I was then hired by Stoneco (A CRH company) as a mining engineer.
