I am currently finishing my final year at Newcastle University on a PhD project supervised by Dr. Anh Phan and Dr. Piergiorgio Gentile; "Carbon dots-loaded layer-by-layer capsules as multifunctional nanotheranostic delivery systems to treat osteosarcoma". My thesis has been submitted and I am currently preparing for my viva. I studied a master’s in chemistry for my undergraduate degree at the University of Central Lancashire, for which I achieved a first-class honours. My dissertation focused on computer aided drug design for the development of a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease by inhibiting tangle formation in the brain. In the future I will be looking for a career in the medical research industry; specifically, in cancer research to utilise my skills in organic chemistry, nanotechnology, drug delivery, small molecule analysis and computational drug design.
