As an instructor for Go Ape I have to be confident and observant. One of my roles is to deliver a safety brief to the customers, this is an incredibly important job because if the customers don't understand how to use the course correctly, the results could be fatal. Customer service is also a big part of my role at Go Ape; People come for a good time so it is very important to me that they leave with a smile on their face. I have also received specialist training above a regular instructor to rescue customers from the course in the event of a serious emergency. Go Ape has allowed me to enhance my; confidence, customer service skills, teamwork skills, presentation skills, health and safety skills and given me a heightened sense of responsibility.

I worked as part of the team on the aqueous waste processing plant. The plant is used to reduce the chemical oxygen demand and surfactant levels in waste water so that it meets the required discharge limits set by united utilities. My main role is to provide guidance to the operator through chemical modelling and quailty control analysis, this role is very important for ensuring that the water the plant disposes of is within the discharge limits.

Whilst interning for NNL I took part in research on different decommissioning techniques of metallic waste for a database and used statistical analysis of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) data to characterise rock samples for the production of safer waste characterisation methods. I observed business meetings and increased my knowledge on how a company such as NNL works.
