Customer Service And Sales Assistant
Sheffield, United Kingdom
I have been employed at Dunelm since March 2016, in a part-time position as aCustomer Service and Sales Assistant in the Woodseats, Sheffield store. This is a newstore which opened on 01/06/2016 and I was involved in the set up and transition from asmaller branch. My role requires me to have excellent communication skills, as Iconstantly interact with members of the general public, colleagues and managers. Ihandle hundreds of transactions every shift, which may involve taking telephoneenquiries, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict management and resolution whencustomers may be unhappy with a purchase or there is a delay to delivery, makingcustomer orders and reporting to managers. The use of my interpersonal skills is anessential part of my work, and I show this in both oral and written presentation. I havebeen involved within stock-taking and stock management processes, and there is arequirement for good organisational and prioritising skills as I often work with minimalsupervision. Recently following a discussion with the people and service director of mycurrent workplace I have been encouraged to visit the IT Department within the HeadOffice. From this experience I am hoping to gain a greater understanding of the rolesand daily tasks required by the IT and business analyst staff there. In my current placeof employment I am often faced with difficult challenges where customers are notsatisfied with products or the service they have received. Within my position I try to finda solution to their problems even if that means going above and beyond so that thecustomer can leave the store satisfied.
