Curie Park

The Sports 37 program is an after school program for Chicago's high schoolers. It is targeted at Chicago’s public schools and at risk youth. Our program runs in two ten week sessions. One is in the fall starting the first week of October. One is in the Spring starting the first week of February. The sessions run three days a week for three hours a day. The program consists of teaching the teens sports fundamentals, rules/regulations of each sport, job readiness, as well as sports, play, and active recreation for kids (or SPARKs) curriculum. The goal of the program is to give the teens a positive after school alternative and a chance at summer employment with the Chicago Park District.-If hired, our teens, depending on their age, become full time seasonal recreation leaders for the Park District's summer camp. There they will work for a full six weeks, 30 hours a week.-We run program throughout the city which is broken into North, Central, and South regions. I oversee a section in the central. I have six high schools and three parks I run program at during the school year. During the summer I will go to upwards of 40+ parks with my teens and instructors. During the school year, I have between 10-12 instructors who run program for 250+ teens. During the summer, I have 12-14 Instructors who each will have 4-5 teens with them going around to parks and delivering our curriculum that they learn during the school year. To sum it all up in one sentence: My job is supervising all these teens and instructors during the school year and summer.

Managed a little league baseball stadium. Performed stadium operations: took charge of all ball field maintenance, kept stadium clean, had to trouble shoot any scheduling problems on site, and dealt with any team or customer questions/complaints. Had 5-7 high school interns under my supervision to help with all of these jobs.
