• Developed innovative ways to use PDP-11 minicomputers for high resolution cartography.• Provided custom operating system modifications to support application development.• My contributions helped CRC provide dynamically adaptable computer-based maps to the Colorado Department of Wildlife for a fraction of the cost of hand produced maps.

• Adapted hardware and created custom software so cash register transactions in the County Clerk’s office could be transferred in real-time into large Decsystem-10 timesharing system. Eliminated use of bulky paper tape system and gave finance officer immediate access to information.• Improved printing of water and electric bills so only one mailing (instead of three) was necessary,thereby returning revenues to the county faster.

• Implemented special real-time code on a PDP-8 minicomputer so it functioned as a satellite graphics output controller for a Burroughs B6700 mainframe. This allowed less expensive graphics output devices to be used by researchers, providing them with capabilities not possible with the B6700 mainframe alone.
