Project manager / engineer responsible for the delivery of TransLink's Passenger Transport Infrastructure Investment Program (PTIIP). This predominantly involved managing the detailed design and construction phase of projects that have been granted funding post Business Case.

During my time at Arup I was exposed to a diverse range of projects within the transport infrastructure industry. My primary roles included project engineer, project manager, road designer and cost estimator. As an experienced road designer (12d & AutoCad) and cost estimator (TMR spec), I was responsible for producing designs and estimates throughout all phases of a project. This included developing horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, detailed intersection layouts, table drain formation, boxing, quantity take offs, schedules and construction estimates. These skills demanded a proficient knowledge in the various design guidelines as specified by Austroads, TMR, Local Councils and Australian Standards. In my later years at Arup I became more known for my roles as project manager. This is due to my technical background, ability to lead from the front and communicate effortlessly with clients.

Mediterranean/Caribbean

Early in my engineering career I decided to have a sabbatical working on luxury yachts during the Mediterranean and Caribbean seasons. I was responsible for the external maintenance of the yacht, looking after the guests needs, managing deck crew, operating the 33ft tender and skippering the 200ft yacht during overnight passages. My greatest highlight was motoring the yacht across the Atlantic Ocean on a 15 day passage from the Mediterannean to the Caribbean.
