I am a Government Legal Officer attached to the Brisbane Police Prosecutions Corps. I am admitted to practise law in the State of Queensland, holding a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from QUT.I am an experienced advocate with specialist knowledge of the youth criminal justice system and the laws governing bail for children and adults in Queensland. I have appeared in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts as well as the Childrens Court and CCQ.In my previous roles with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions QLD, I assisted Crown Prosecutors with jury trials, sentences and applications in the District and Supreme Courts, prepared indictments and legal advice and had carriage of a large volume of pre- and post-committal matters in a busy regional practice.My peer-reviewed research into the application of human rights laws to the management of serious sex offenders in Queensland has been published in the Australian Journal of Human Rights.
