My name is Thomas Worrell and I am a current Program Manager at a local non-profit overseeing a Community Supports program. This includes directly supervising three Program Coordinators. In addition to the people I directly supervise, I work closely with our 100 frontline workers to provide trainings and ensure they are providing the best possible service to the 150 people in our program. I am responsible for conducting audits and ensuring my program stays in compliance with state regulations. To do this I generate and analyze reports, translate this data into different spreadsheets and visualizations for my team to better understand. Some other duties include organizing meetings between my team, outside agencies, representatives from state agencies and the families of those in the program. I find my time management, organization & project tracking skills have been finely tuned while in this role. I attended St. John's University where I studied marketing and received my Bachelor's degree. During my time in university I interned at a law firm managing their marketing efforts. During my internship I became well versed in Microsoft Office, Google Ads and Adobe Photoshop. I also assisted with the publishing of a book titled "Divorce, Now What? :How to Survive, Thrive and Become Fully Alive Through the Divorce Process." by Anne-Louise DePalo ESQ. During my time here I learned how to effectively handle multiple projects at once and provide reports on each one to my supervisor weekly. I am a freelance photographer on my free time and love to find new perspectives on common items or occurrences. Having a different perspective on things we may overlook on a daily basis can help with our problem solving skills in the workplace. It can also promote collaborative effort by being open-minded to hear our teams input or thoughts on the task at hand. I am a firm believer in the old saying "Teamwork makes the dream work!"My past experiences are very diverse and I believe that to be one of my biggest strengths when joining a new team. I am a rapid learner and a sponge for any new information or techniques to improve my skillset and workflow. I’m also open to freelance collaborative work as I feel that is a great learning experience and can lead to great professional relationships. I look forward to any challenge presented in front of me so I can learn and grow from it. I always remind myself that we must keep moving forward, we only fail when we stop trying.
