I have recently started a new role with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust as a Wilder Delivery Assistant, in this role I will be implementing rewilding and habitat management works across Derbyshire with varying land owners as part of the Wilder Delivery team.Previously I worked as a Ranger at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, making urban green spaces accessible to the public and nature. I have a Master's degree in Advanced Wildlife Conservation in Practice from the University of the West of England, for my thesis, I assessed the accuracy of a habitat suitability model for the Eurasian Curlew in Nidderdale AONB, North Yorkshire.My passion for conservation and rewilding drives me to implement sustainable habitat management techniques that take into account the uncertain climate future. I enjoy focusing on community engagement, through which I have previously partnered with the Friends of Greasbrough Park to achieve the Green Flag award for the park. I focused on how to integrate rewilding into our urban green spaces and how to involve the community in this process. I believe in the importance of promoting carbon literacy, conservation, green skills, and innovation to our younger generations.
