CurrentBattalion Chief/Training and SafetyCoordinating all department members annual training to comply with OSHA, ISO, NFPA, EMS regulations and requirements, building out the annual training to fulfill all state and federal requirements specific for individuals rank on the department and facilitating department drills ensuring effective operations while maintaining the safety of all members involved.Manage budget for training division including members attending outside training opportunities, internal department training, equipment and personnel/instructors.Filling the role of Department Safety Officer, coordinating occupational safety and health initiatives for all department members; liaising with the Village central health and safety committee, managing department member injury reporting and return to duty process. Incident Safety officer on on emergencies focusing on crew integrity, accountability, safe operations and tactics at structure fires, technical rescue and hazardous materials incidents as well as motor vehicle accidents.Shift Battalion Chief coordinating daily shift for on-duty members, organizing department members daily assignments, incident command for emergencies filling the unified command structure based on size and severity of the incident. Fire and Arson Investigator: investigating origin and cause at fire incidents and documenting federal reporting requirements.
