Als Lead Engineer Klimaat & Nutsvoorzieningen bij Koppert Techniek, specialiseer ik me in het optimaliseren en beheren van kritieke systemen waaronder klimaatbeheersing, stoom, water, koeling, luchtbevochtiging/drogen, perslucht en afvalwaterbehandeling. In mijn rol werk ik nauw samen met de Energiemanager om ons bedrijf voor te bereiden op de energietransitie, met een focus op duurzame oplossingen die in lijn zijn met milieureguleringen. Mijn afdeling legt een sterke nadruk op het voldoen aan de specifieke klimaateisen die nodig zijn voor insectenkweek, de kerncompetentie van Koppert.As the Lead Engineer of Climate Systems & Utilities at Koppert Techniek, I specialize in optimizing and managing critical systems including climate control, steam, water, cooling, air humidification/drying, compressed air, and wastewater treatment. In my role, I work closely with the Energy Manager to prepare our company for the energy transition, focusing on sustainable solutions that align with environmental regulations. My department places a strong emphasis on meeting the specific climate demands required for insect rearing, the core competency of Koppert.

Vanaf de eerste dag ben ik betrokken geweest bij brainstormsessies voor consumentenproducten. Het helder en snel communiceren over technische concepten aan collega-ingenieurs is hierbij essentieel. Hierin heb ik het afgelopen jaar een sterke ontwikkeling doorgemaakt. Door intensieve trainingen en samenwerking met industrieel ontwerpers en modelbouwers heb ik me het ontwikkelen van prototypes snel eigen gemaakt. Naast het gebruik van rapid prototyping technieken als 3D-printen is ok het professioneel testen en rapporteren aan cliënten onderdeel van mijn dagelijkse bezigheden.From day one, I have been involved in brainstorming sessions for consumer products. Clearly and swiftly communicating technical concepts to fellow engineers is essential in this process. Over the past year, I have made significant progress in this area. Through intensive training and collaboration with industrial designers and model builders, I have quickly mastered the development of prototypes. In addition to using rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, professional testing and reporting to clients were also part of my daily activities.

In het Interdisciplinary Computational Engineering Laboratory (ICEL) onder leiding van Dr. Mohamed I. Hassan heb ik diverse CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) modellen ontwikkeld, onder andere voor de lokale aluminiumindustrie, zoals Emirates Global Aluminum. Daarnaast was ik betrokken bij het schrijven van onderzoeksvoorstellen en wetenschappelijke artikelen, alsook bij het installeren van nieuwe onderzoeksapparatuur.In the Interdisciplinary Computational Engineering Laboratory (ICEL) led by Dr. Mohamed I. Hassan, I developed various Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models, including for the local aluminum industry, such as Emirates Global Aluminum. Additionally, I was involved in writing research proposals and scientific articles, as well as installing new research equipment.

In het Waste2Energy Lab heb ik uiteenlopende afvalstromen geanalyseerd om de meest geschikte verwerkingsmethoden te identificeren, met een primaire focus op thermo-chemische processen zoals verbranding, vergassing en pyrolyse.In the Waste2Energy Lab, I analyzed various waste streams to identify the most suitable processing methods, primarily focusing on thermochemical processes such as combustion, gasification, and pyrolysis.

Als bestuurslid van het studenten race team was ik verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerpen en bouwen van het brandstofcelsysteem van de Forze V, een Formula Student raceauto. Binnen een periode van 10 maanden leidde ik het proces van het ontwerp tot aan de bouw en het testen van het systeem. Mijn rol omvatte tevens het werven van nieuwe sponsoren en het onderhouden van relaties met bestaande sponsoren. De Forze V onderscheidt zich als ’s werelds eerste en enige waterstofraceauto die heeft deelgenomen aan een Formula Student-evenement. In mijn functie als Safety Officer was ik ook verantwoordelijk voor het naleven van de veiligheidseisen van de auto en het waarborgen van de veiligheid van alle teamleden.As a board member of the student racing team, I was responsible for designing and building the fuel cell system of the Forze V, a Formula Student race car. Over a period of 10 months, I guided the project from its initial design through to construction and testing of the system. Additionally, I was actively involved in seeking new sponsors and maintaining relationships with our existing sponsors. The Forze V stands out as the world’s first and only hydrogen car that has participated in a Formula Student event. As the Safety Officer, I was also in charge of complying with the car’s safety requirements and ensuring the safety of team members.
