I started Barr Systems Inc. in 1984 to provide control solutions and engineering support to companies as needed. The link to the web site provides details of some of the projects and industries we have been involved in.

Tara Sales was one of the first two Texas Instrument Engineering Application Distributers in the United States. At this time our sales represented about 50% of all programmable controller sales in the Chicago area. In addition to sales on PLCs we were able to provide turn key solutions if the customer was not able to design the system themself. The PLC division of TI was sold to Siemens a number of years ago.

Responsible for Panel Shop operation for a timeAs engineering manager I provided turn key control solutions using programmable controllers.

Responsible for the design of the controls for all the machines it takes to make a two piece can using PLCs. Continental Can would purchase most of these machines without the controls and we would design, built and commission the control systems our self. During this time I also worked on machines that produced plastic and paper packaging. My last project as an CCC employee produced a 2 piece can line that was completely controlled using PLCs. We also did computer monitoring.
