• Responsible for the TfL Strategy, Business Plan and scorecard across 14 transport modes in the world's largest integrated transport authority• Responsible for innovation projects across TfL, leading partnerships with global tech firms and projects with the potential to reduce costs by £millions each year• Led a team of 72 people, with 11 direct reports• Passionate about improving customer experience: successfully delivered TfL's first-ever integrated Customer Strategy• Led TfL's preparation for change of government and the subsequent comprehensive spending review• Promoted in TfL after less than a year, being asked to take on four additional teams (30 people), including responsibility for TfL-wide strategy

• Creation of a new transport digital product proposition (in effect “Uber for coaches”) through recruiting and leading a team of software developers and providing clear product-oriented direction• Achieved valuation of £15m within two years from a standing start, and rollout to seven UK cities within three years• Raised £10m from venture capital investors, despite the coach industry traditionally not finding it easy to access modern investment capital• Responsible directly to a Board including independent non-Executive directors and representatives of our major institutional investors• Undertook regular anonymous employee surveys: feedback from team highlighted inspirational, mission-focused leadership • Total budgetary responsibility and ‘buck stops here’ accountability for delivery• Took critical decisions under high pressure, especially when negotiating funding

• Instigated, led and delivered multiple industry-first innovations including free WiFi, barcode ticketing, a mobile ticketing app, information on Twitter and Bluetooth ticketing. All of these were industry firsts at the time. (All except Bluetooth ticketing subsequently rolled out industry-wide)• As director responsible for revenue, grew revenue 100% from £100m to £200m, making Chiltern Railways the fastest-growing rail franchise in the UK• Statutory Board director with all fiduciary responsibilities (as I was in my subsequent role)• Responsible for communications, and gradually took on wider industry comms role, becoming one of the rail industry’s main spokespeople representing the industry on BBC News, the PM Programme, Channel 4 News, Broadcasting House, Sky News and many others. • Responsible for £200m revenue budget, 3 departmental cost budgets and leadership of commercial, marketing and communication teams during a doubling of size of business, the opening of new routes and restructures• Led successful EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) accreditation • During my time at Chiltern Railways, we frequently had the top customer satisfaction of any DfT franchise in the Transport Focus National Passenger Survey

• Seconded to Wrexham & Shropshire from Chiltern Railways to save rail service from closure (W&S was a financially underperforming startup operator). • Rapidly created a brand-new alliance; including assembling a delegation of every MP on our route (from every party) to the Transport Secretary to lobby for the changes needed to secure the railway’s future• Grew passenger volumes by 88% and revenue by 32% in just nine months
