My responsibilities included:Leading, implementing and driving methodologies that ultimately bring operational changes to the plants performance progress towards world class manufacturing standardsManaging all teams within the mechanical engineering department by defining and reviewing daily targets and workplans.Working with QA to conduct IQ, PQ, OQ, PCEE validation on new equipmentUndertaking Strategic planning activities with the senior management team in line with the customer and business needs.Functioning as the Engineering department CAPEX and OPEX budget controller. Ensuring that all consumables are procured in time.Leading the engineering team the statutory pharmaceutical validation inspection such as HVAC validation, compressed air validation etc. Managing the Lean six sigma team to track the operational capabilities of the production team as well as finding ways to reduce the plants energy expenses by introducing and maintaining automated systems that run the plant.Setting engineering and maintenance targets in line with the operations objectives and defining strategies to achieve these targets.Tracking important KPI's such as OEE based on how efficiently our teams are are to handle breakdowns using the company's CMMS programReviewing, approving and maintaining relevant documentation, records, SOPs, validation protocols report and respond to deviations jointly with Quality Assurance team.Negotiating contracts between Cosmos and its suppliers.Conducting safety trainings at the engineering department.Installing, commissioning and qualifying new machinery at the pant.Providing utility inputs such as steam, purified water and compressed air in the right quantity to the production system.Managing facility improvement and production expansion projects at Cosmos LTD.
