Due to the rural nature of the project, undertook the project engineering role, as well as Site Coordinator and Project Manager functions for the duration of project. Though independent buildings, significant consideration was given to inter-phase works with existing buildings and working around a live hospital.May 2019-February 2020: Northern Hospital Redevelopment, Epping - Builder: Kane - Client: DHHS - SoW: Full Concrete Package (incl. in-ground works, asbestos removal, PT, precast columns/panels) - Description: New Operating Theatre (1100m2, SoG-Level 3), In-Patient Unit (2000m2, level 4-level 7) and various minor works. Significant challenges were faces due to In-Patient Unit was erected on existing roof on Level 3 of an active hospital. Extreme care had to be taken to avoid damaging existing structure, particularly waterproof membrane on roof. Both buildings were concurrently erected, utilizing only 1 tower crane, which caused over-under hazards and delays. Further, ongoing demolition works of existing precast facade panels during construction and new piling cause significant coordination challenges. -
